With a top overun you can simply step off the unit onto the landing without the need to swivel the seat.

Because of commitment to quality, the limited warranty exceeds industry standards. The drive train is warranted for five years: the stairway lift component parts for two. The Excel stairway lift also carries the prestigious Underwriters Laboratories label.

And it’s a convenient feature when someone needs a little extra help using the lift or when you want to send laundry or other items up stairs.           

The optional folding track clears the track out of the landing walkway. This maximizes valuable living space and minimizes any trip hazards when there is no wall extended next to the stairs.

 The Electra-Ride features a wide, deep seat offering a secure and comfortable ride.

Electra-Ride 2 units offers swing out arms as well as an adjustment to set the width of the arms, both features allow for easier access and a more comfortable ride. The Electra-Ride II is a low profile design that uses only 24" of the stairway when in use and folds up to only 13" from the wall allowing greater access for others using the stairway.

Electra-Ride Elite installed rail extends only five inches from wall. Seat height may be adjusted from 19" to 24 1/2". This unique, simple design of rail hides mechanical components keeping grease and dust away from you and your clothes.

Choice of Control

ACORN Superglide Stair Lifts are controlled by, either the mechanical 'joystick' fitted to the seat arm, or by way of the infra red remote control handset, two of which are supplied. The mechanical controls over-ride the remote controls.

    

The remote controls are ideal when there are 2 users in the house so that the lift can be 'sent' or 'called' up - and downstairs. The wireless design means that there is no unsightly wall mounted wiring or control stations. 

            

Bridging Platform

The bridging platform can offer a quick, cost effective solution to certain types of curved staircase. Good examples are winding turns right at the top of the stairs, or perhaps a turn on a flat landing where there are 2 or 3 steps after the turn.

               

Sit and Stand Frame

This addition allows the user(s) of the stair lift to choose to ascend/descend the stairs in either the usual seated position or to stand on the footrest, whilst holding onto a special folding steady/security bar for stability. It is ideal for those who may have problems with bending their knees, or where multiple users with different requirements will be using the stair lift.

 

Pressure sensitive safety surfaces

There are 5 surfaces / edges that stop the stair lift in event of a collision with any obstruction on the stairway. These are located around the footrest, and on the top and bottom of the carriage.

       

Swivel seat with locking catch

The stair lift seat swivels, and locks in position, making mounting and dismounting from the stair lift easy and safe. The stair lift will not operate unless the seat is in the correct riding position.

       

Hinged rail

The lower section of the rail folds up and out of the way when not in use, allowing greater access at the foot of the stairs. A good example of the application of a hinged rail is when there is a doorway at or near the foot of the stairs, and where a fixed rail would obstruct the doorway

             

Occasionally it is not possible to use the standard ACORN Superglide stair lift. Perhaps this is because the stairs are exceptionally narrow, or because the users legs will not bend enough to allow them to sit down on the stairlift.

ACORN have especially developed the Perch model stair lift to overcome this problem.

            

The ACORN Superglide Outdoor Stair Lift is an ideal solution for situations involving any staircase that is exposed to the elements, including garden steps, sun decks, porches, front stoops and garage or basement steps. The outdoor stair lift is very popular with those lucky enough to live in beach homes, as it is well protected from the ravages of salt air.    

                

Included with the stair lift is a durable plastic cover which will keep off accumulations of leaves and snow.

All metallic components are either made in aluminum, or are oil annealed or zinc plated before powder coating. Plastic components are heat and UV resistant, protecting the stair lift from color fading and ambient heat damage. Even in outdoor configuration, the ACORN Superglide Stair Lift has world renowned ride quality and performance, making it whisper quiet, smooth and stable and very easy to use.
